Allport 50th Anniversary Party in London

Saturday 12th January 2013: Guests representing our partners in 30 countries, joined 1,500 colleagues in London’s historic and picturesque BatterseaPark, to celebrate Allport’s 50th Anniversary, and to mark the launch of re-branding to Allport Cargo Services.

The newly appointed Joint Group Managing Directors, Jerry Gray and Danny Clayton, both spoke at the event.

Jerry highlighted the critical contribution made by all colleagues, both past and present, to the success of the business; and the pride the board has in seeing long service achievements continue to grow – more than 25% of colleagues have now exceeded 10 years service.

Danny paid tribute to John Clayton, his father and joint founder of Allport; and recounted a conversation they had some 15 years ago on the values that Allport was built on – Fairness, Teamwork, Partnership and Integrity.

John Lau, the owner of the principal shareholder Cargo Services, attended the event, mingling with colleagues like old friends; and Representative from HSBC (shareholder) also joined the vibrant and friendly atmosphere.

The evening was a truly memorable one with much nostalgia for the past 50 successful years of trading, and also a sense of excitement for the future.
